Themes

At Covenant UMC Preschool, we organize our curriculum around weekly themes. Teachers will select stories, music, and activities that reflect the theme and allow the students to learn through a variety of approaches. Themes such as Insects and Ocean allow the students to explore scientific topics. Other themes like Thanksgiving or Rodeo help students learn about both American and Texas culture. Our themes also reflect the study of our families, our Christian faith, the community around us, and favorite authors.

Although students may explore the same themes each year, the teachers change the classroom activities to reflect the developmental level of their students.
