Music

Covenant UMC Preschool believes that music plays a vital role in developing important language and cognitive skills. Each class visits Ms. Ellen’s music class once a week, where children engage in a variety of musical activities. These activities help develop skills such as ear training, rhythm, music appreciation, music fundamentals, creative movement, and singing.
Typical music activities include singing Call and Response songs and American folk songs, moving to action songs and dancing with scarves, playing rhythm instruments, and learning about different musical instruments. Through these experiences, children not only develop their musical abilities but also enhance their overall cognitive and social skills.
